Peanut Butter and Jam Smoothie

PB & J brings back childhood memories of school lunches for many North Americans.  Hopefully these are positive memories, and if they are you may enjoy this drink, which is a take on the popular sandwich and is in no way a blended sandwich for geriatrics which I imagine to be gross! 
I have recently discovered that oatmeal is an excellent ingredient in smoothies, and one day while wanting a snack and having very little in the house I saw that I had peanut butter, strawberries and oatmeal.  All the ingredients for this smoothie! 
For 3 big glasses
  • ½ cup oatmeal
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ cup fresh or frozen strawberries, or strawberry jam
  • 1 -2 tbsp peanut butter

  1. Combine all ingredients to a blender and blend until the strawberries are indistinguishable.   The longer you leave this drink, the thicker it will get, so you may need to blend with more water if you are not going to drink it right away.
