Rice flour paste for paper mache

Why rice flour paste?  I am living on an island that does not produce wheat;  I need paste for a sculpture project.  After researching many alternatives and experimenting and destroying several prototypes, I have discovered a beautiful mixture for homemade rice flour paste.  I actually prefer it to the wheat-paste that I had used in Canada.  Rice flour paste is very smooth, sticky and has a beautiful congee smell.

Half a cup or rice flour
One table spoon of salt
2 Cups of water

Pour half a cup of rice flour into a cup or measuring cup, or any sort of vessel.

Mix the flour with water so that all lumps are dissolved.  The liquid should be runny and look like milk.

Boil water and salt and pour in the rice flour / water mixture.  It will thicken immediately with the heat.
Simmer for 5 minutes, or until desired texture is reached.  Let cool and it's ready!
